Meta Rexy (08/12/2018 04:12pm):
Ah, so you've opted for a Battle of Stalingrad themed map. Interesting. There's massive FTA as you'd expect with plenty of pre deployed maps. I think if you'd like to suit the theme more, you should give Red a few more vehicular pre deployed units, but also cut their production facilities (less bases in particular), as well as give them access to fewer bases along the front lines in the city on the left side (they should only get like one or two to reflect how the Soviets wore them down over time, and definitely not three bases) I do gather the Soviets should get more bases as they take back territory from the Germans, but they should have a few more bases on their side of the fighting, and more evenly spread out. As it stands, if the Germans capture all of the bases near their starting position in the city they will easily eliminate the meager pre deployed resistance nearby and likely advance on HQs soon after. From my knowledge of history, I recall the Germans relying on higher quality tanks while the Soviets spammed cheap but effective T 34s, so you should give Grey more regular tanks and mechs to win by attrition, and maybe give Red an MD in the city to defend a bit better. Remove the artillery from Grey, and the Bombers, as the Soviet air force was wrecked by the Luftwaffe and wasn't of much help during the battle. Perhaps give Red some B Copters to harass the tanks and infantry until they gain enough momentum to repulse them with AAs. I know this isn't fully historically accurate, but I do think you've done a good job so far in depicting the battle. I especially like the mass of pre deployeds across the river with Landers that will ultimately run out as the Germans get pushed back. The only other thing is that CO Powers will drastically affect this battle. Eagle and the mass damage COs should be banned here. |
