A large 50x50 map but fighting won't take days to start. Also tried to make it a chaotic mixed-base FFA to limit what happens in some maps where players form an alliance with others in their region and easily defeat surrounding regions. Not perfectly symmetric/FTA balanced, but diplomacy/multiplayer shenanigans should maker a bigger difference I think. Please suggest improvements though. |

These are user created maps designed for PvP. Most maps in the main games are designed for player vs AI. Because the AI isnt very good, the main game maps dont have to be balanced, but AWBW maps should be balanced. Main game maps also often have a story basis. You can find maps (this is the page to search for maps: https://awbw.amarriner.com/searchmaps.php) based on the main game maps though, Spann Island is particularly popular. |

New version after the playtests. City count increased so recommended funding is now 1000 per property. The 4 outer countries (YC/BD/RF/BM) were at a disadvantage from being ganged up on. Therefore I increased contested properties around the middle and opened up the terrain a bit so BH/GE/GS/OS have more incentive to fight each other in the centre instead of fighting the outer countries only. Contested properties between BD and OS, BM and BH, etc. have been increased to balance the previous over-importance of the island. Many roads were changed to shores (and some more shores were added) to increase usefulness of possible black boats on the mainland (and also for aesthetic reasons). This maps looks amazing! I was thinking of doing a 4v4 with friends, and having teams/turn order as ABABAB seems well balanced. Going to try and find out~ |

Not sure what you mean. It's mixed base so all players have 2 starting locations. This wasn't intended to be a team map though it can be played as such, but its up to the game creator to consider start locations when assigning teams. |
