The Horde has finally come to the tucked-away sanctuary of Oldwood.. a place that was once nigh paradise in a world overflowing with the dead. A bastion of hope. Yet, They are now here, here to ravage everything that had been built up and accomplished in the past years. This fort won't be able to last more than a month, and despite the facade of bravado, everyone knows inside that there will be no choice but to flee and concede Oldwood to the dead. Punch a hole through the horde and find a new place to call home. Maybe someday in the distant future, when the undead have been whittled down or a cure discovered, you will be able to retake Oldwood. But until then, you must survive. Anyone bitten by the undying will be 'infected', eventually twisting into one of them after a long and insidious process. Though no longer able to speak but slurrs, they are all connected through powerful psionics. When one of them smells something, then so do all the rest, like a hivemind, or an army of ants fueled by an unrelenting hunger for warm flesh and blood. They are slower than you, they are stronger than you, and they are just as smart as you. But how did they find this place? Just by coincidence.. or? There are 3 factions trying to survive the horde and escape from deadwood. [SET STARTING FUNDS TO 12000] ZOMBIES (TG and AR) - You are on the same team. Your objective is to eat the brains of all the survivors. ALL of them. Time is in your favour, because on Day 30 your living opponents will have completely used up their food supply and morale. This is a siege! - At the start of the game, AR (preferably the host) picks 1 survivor to play the *Infected*. See below. - You can only spawn {Infantries, Mechs, Megatanks} SURVIVORS (everyone else) - You are NOT on the same team (but you are supposed work together! See below.) Your objective is to escape Deadwood by capturing either the TG or AR HQ before the Time Limit is up. If anyone manages to do so, then you all share victory! - Alternatively, you can win by killing the Infected player. INFECTED (one unknown survivor) - You are Infected. Your only hope of survival relies on capturing 3 of the Labs scattered around the map, they will contain enough of the top secret cure to save yourself. - You must give your vision to the zombies! They can see what you see, but you can't see what they see. Your ailment is a menace to the other survivors and must be kept a secret. - If you don't make it within Day 30, you turn into a zombie (lose). If the other survivors escape before you get the labs, you are left behind to your doom (also lose). (For clarification, again: You do NOT share victory with survivors or zombies. If you win, then they lose. If they win, then you lose.) Only one faction can be victorious. Whose grit will be favored by luck? |

Lab units should be activated (essential units, like tanks, apcs, artilleries...) so that everyone tries to get at least 1 lab, else the survivors can just agree not to capture labs to find out who the imposter is. Also maybe 1 or 2 more labs can make it more balanced and challenging. Yes, the zombies should be allowed to build megatanks aka super zombies, besides infs and mechs (on normal funds game)... but maybe not missiles since they already have imposter vision and there are enough mountains? If zombies follow this rule, this can be a hell of a fun game and 30 days would be enough time to exterminate one of the hq's (zombie brain). Edit: Unit limit off for settings? Allow only zombies to use SENSEI, STURM and NELL (maybe nell too much)? |

I think you're right about the labs. I thought I could just enable fog to deal with it, but smart survivors would quickly impose such a rule, and the moment the Infected touches a lab it's game over for them. I also think the lab placement is a bit awkward right now, but no idea how to fix it so far. About the unit limit, it's already a pain to move 50 zombies a turn (even if refreshless helps ease the burden). If 100 zombies isnt enough for a map this size then I'll look into it, but to me it seems like it's fine leaving it at 50 because of the aforementioned zombie management and also because when both players have 50 zombies, then they can save money and spend it on megatanks, in other words the issue sorts itself. There are many interesting CO picks the zombies can choose from, every CO offers radically different play styles for a zombie. I don't see the need to restrict CO picks for the zombies. But we all know Sami's going to be the favorite anyways. |

Actually, when I made the game settings I forgot to include starting funds. Survivors seem kinda screwed without some starting vehicles but maybe I'm wrong. --- Sample beginning-of-game message: - Alright folks, let the game begin! If you are a Survivor, then you win by either 'escaping' (capturing a zombie HQ) or by killing the Infected player. All Survivors share victory and win together, so only one of them needs to capture the HQ for the others to win. If you are the Infected, then you must give your vision to the zombies. Your objective is to capture 3 Labs. If the survivors escape before you manage to get the labs, then you lose. You do NOT share victory with the zombies. Reminder that there is a 30 Day limit, and if no one manages to win within this time, then the Zombies will win by default. |
