As I expected, you guys are kinda too old to get it, no offense (besides this meme is trash anyway). There is a Chinese bootleg
of Among Us actually, but amogus is just an internet meme based on the irony of playing the game in 2021.

Amogus came when stonetoss (political cartoonist) started embracing a spinoff of his comics
(antifa stonetoss) with opposing viewpoints, someone who posed as stonetoss said that he
"hated the among us meme", so the antifastonetoss subreddit started pumping out amogus
trash like a factory until stonetoss himself said that he "actually didn't care" and that "he liked
them" (quotation needed)

Stonetoss soon started selling unique cryptos (not NFTs) which with the amogus meme
popularity he sold out in almost no time

After all that stonetoss made a strip using among us crewmates in a bathroom (regarding trans
rights etc...) Name is something along the lines of "the impostor"

Then cue becoming trending on Twitter which turned it into the meme we know, amogus (and
usually combined with the Sus! meme)

Also revived the jerma face (known now as when the impostor is sus face)

Tl;Dr campaign to take down artist actually helps him

Also i think I summarized it pretty well, internet historians have the right to correct me
