First time mapmaker! Would appreciate any constructive criticism regarding what works and what doesn't work. Intentions of this map was to provide ease of access along the primary loop via the roads but to also make it so that players must remain cautious of flanking counter attacks coming from the forests/mountains or potentially via the connected shoals that are shielded behind the mountains. I wanted to include the option to go for naval units without making it a necessity so I'm not sure if naval units will be a huge turning point on this map however the central pool does provide another pathway to attack your opponents from. More specifically the first harbor you get really can only be used for transports, so for players wishing to take advantage of the central pool they'll have to secure one of the two harbors in the center of the map to be able to deploy more aggressive naval units. |

I'm not qualified enough to remark on overall decisions but I do want to point out that Blue will be able to start capturing the city 4 spots away from his base on his first turn where as Red cannot until turn 3, giving Blue a slight lead in funds. Idk if FTA will make up for it by capturing a base half a turn sooner but it is something to consider. Other than that I would say great job for a first map. |
