Roma_emu (02/25/2006 05:20pm):
"What will you do in the beginning? Will you capture, attack the enemy or defend against a possible attack? This is, again, the big choice is this map! You can capture only one city in the first turn, but, instead of going to capture more, you can try a sneak attack on your enemy, using the forests (or not - I wouldn't use them) in the middle. You can also build strong units but keep then on defensive position. If you can manage a sucessful early attack, victory is yours. If you defend against the enemy's attack, he/she will be weak and you can capture his/her HQ. But, if your enemy defends against a non-existent attack while you capture the neutral buildings, you will soon have enouth money and bases to overwhelm him/her. Remember that wheter you choose any of the options you will eventually battle the enemy. Even if you try to win by capture, soon you will come into conflict against the enemy, since you need more than half (25) of the buildings in the game to win (30). What is your choice? Defensive, Offensive or Capturing campaign? Remember... Defense > Offense > Capturing > Defense! Choose carefully, advisor... and let the battle start!" _SUGGESTED SETTINGS_ Fog of War: ON Money: 1,000/base Capture: 30 Roma_emu's Old AWN Design Maps Notes: "There are some differences from the first map. First, the HQs are even closer, leading to bigger importancy of the Defensive and Offensive campaigns. Second, differently from the previous map, there are only two bridges to the area outside the river, and they are equally distanced from each HQ so depending on the path that each player chooses, there is a big chance of they coming into sooner conflict than expected. I believe that these changes will lead to a more strategic battle." |
