OS has a huge advantage, the property block is closer to him then anyone else. |

Of course, a property block is a bad thing to have anyway. Less plains, more terrian, less straight roads, more scattered property, and the sub and megatank of BH is pointless. |

Actually..., there might be some intelligence here about this map. I understand that the Mega Tank (and sub) is provided to compensate for OS having an obvious advantage of the available property block closer - whereas on the left side it "evens out" - this unevenness providing "flavor" to a map, and and interesting experimental test to this whole concept. Upon inspection, the Mega tank can arrive at the property block (and engage OS) in 5 - 7 turns, putting a very annoying problem for OS and it's infantry, while BH can bring an infantry to that block (with APC) in about 6 turns. OS can arrive at the block with infantry in 4 turns and may capture one or two properties before having to deal with the Mega tank. But once the MT arrives, the problems it poses for OS are substantial during the beginning phase of the game when there are low funds (even if OS captures a base - think about it). So with respect to LuminescentSword, I would have to disagree and state that the MT can possibly be more than enough to compensate for the closer property block to OS. This MAY be a decent map, and worth testing, regarding the general argument/question of positional advantage vs. extra units! |
