You know how you can sometimes just look at a map and think to yourself "man, this will take forever" ? This map is sort of an example of it. By the time combat starts, everyone will have made their way through their pipe seams, collected all of their cities, and either fired off all of their missiles to slow the enemy breaking pipes and capturing, or set themselves up to fire all of the missiles the moment they break through and start combat. And in both cases, the winner of the first skirmish will then have to slog through a 22 tile long chokepoint. 11 of which they will be blasted by rockets. There will be a winner, but, by the time someone wins, neither player will probably care anymore. This map could really benefit from battle copters as the prize for winning the center. also, 16 property really isn't enough for 6 bases. Not that that will end up mattering super heavily as the finds are quite low and most of them are in the middle. I expect both players to build an artillary, a tank, an apc, and an infantry, and then continue to gum up their long slow road with more infantry until they reach their 2 base spot, at which point they'll build their first rocket, and speed things up. and then probably continue to build rockets until they reach the middle, where they'll have to contend with the fact that the opponent will have built rockets as well, making the advancement into the enemy half ot he map slow. This map is so choked, that even Max will build a bunch of rockets. |

I played the worst game of Advance Wars I have ever experienced on this map, but I think that was the point. |

I was playing this map with a friend in a voice call, and this comment brought out something incredible in its design. I have never felt such earnest passion in a map before. So many maps on here are rehashes of the same lame design concepts, but here is a work of art. The designer was clearly considering the out of game experience as well as the interplay between the players. People reading, you should seriously consider playing this. It'll awaken how this game was supposed to be played. |
