EDIT: Ignore all of the comments on this map before the one I made around the same time as this edit, this used to be a completely different (and not good) map. |

I'm playing a game on this at the moment, and something stuck out as a problem to me. The right hand island has 3 very conveniently placed mountains around its edge, whereas on the left island the mountains are more inland. Currently I am playing on the left side and Grey Sky has an infantry on the mountain at the top of his island, which will have a vision value of 5 and can therefore see everything that's going on in my corresponding port. He has the same deal further down with two more mountains overlooking the middle island. Perhaps you could even this out and make it more symmetrical? |

Ok, I've made several updates here. Phyte, I read your suggestions and think I've fixed those problems. I also made some adjustments with terrain and widened the river to allow ships to travel through all of it. |

All right, I've significantly lowered the number of bases, because I've found that it's extremely difficult to invade other countries' land, as well as a couple of other minor property changes. |

not bad...not great, but not bad. |

I've added some predeployed sea transport units, which will hopefully help games on this map move a bit faster and aid in actually landing on the other lands. I also gave an airport to each side. One thing I want to ask about is whether this seems balanced for FFA or not. That's always been part of the problem with this map, the layout encourages the two side players to go after the middle player, which is why I give them a few more things. So, does it seem like FFA works as it is? If not, what should I change to make it balanced for FFA, or should I make changes to make it a 2 vs. 1 instead? |

This is all said without seeing any games on the map, so take it with a grain of salt. I think the reason you might see the sides going after the central island is because their forward base is much closer to the central island than to the other side island. You could shift that forward base up a few spaces so that it's more centered between them, and that might help that issue a little bit. I would definitely only leave two preowned bases per island. What you then might try is putting a neutral base on the edge of each island, where the neighboring island will be able to get to it fastest. Then each side will be fighting a 2 vs. 1 battle on two of the islands at a time. That could make for interesting play if you can reconfigure the terrain appropriately. Keep the base count even for all three islands though, I don't think giving one country more bases is the best solution. Definitely leave this map as an FFA map though, because that is way rarer to find than 2 vs. 1 maps (and probably more difficult to pull off). |

I just started playing YC as Eagle and noticed everyone has only one airport, and mine is very near the sea. Considering the number of reefs, it's going to be easy for someone to hide a carrier and shoot down all my aircraft as soon as they're built. |

This is a new map now, as the edited first comment indicates. At any rate, I thought I was overdue to try out a map with black tiles. |

I want to see the original map! |

Maybe the wayback machine can find it, dunno. It was just some lame 3P FFA map where each player had an island. Quite awful really. Well, the internet wayback machine... didn't really work out XD http://web.archive.org/web/20070609233629/http://awbw.amarriner.com/prevmaps.php?maps_id=4550 You can see, some of the old property distribution? |
